ESSE LIGHTHEART has all the style and performance of the original in a smaller package. Thanks to its tried and tested design, you can comfortably heat a room up to 50 cubic metres and fry, saute, roast, and bake.
The stove has a sturdy steel and cast iron body that enables it to heat quickly and cook food effectively, and its newly designed firebox, with a picture frame surround, allows for a beautiful view of the fire. It includes the ESSE signature dog bone hotplate with a boiling to simmering zone and a 47 litre oven with three shelf positions.

Being a more compact size, the Lightheart cook stove adds a new and exciting immersive experience for those heating a smaller living space and for use in locations that remain ‘off the grid’ such as bothies, yurts, shepherd huts, and cabins. Lightheart is 700mm wide by 654mm tall and 500mm deep and provides 4.6kW of radiant heat.

ESSE is a brand that has always been about authenticity and character from 1854 to now, these are the attributes that fans and customers love, and the new Ironheart product family line up reflects this.

Caring in the heat of battle, Florence Nightingale insisted on only using ESSE Stoves at the military hut hospital in Balaclava during the Crimean War. The ‘Mrs Sam’ stove remains in Shackleton’s Hut in the Antarctic from the Nimrod Expedition in 1907 and a Bakeheart cook stove warms geological researchers visiting the North Pole. One of the first Lightheart models to leave the production line in Barnoldswick will be showcased at River Cottage HQ, in Devon where Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and his team of chefs will put the stove through its culinary paces.

Both a heating and cooking companion, Lightheart is the fourth generation of the Ironheart product family that gives a nostalgic nod to ESSE’s heritage, with classic styling elements such as the insulated baking oven and graduated temperature cook top.

What’s more, the ESSE product range has a strong focus on environmental footprint with every stove being hand-built to last in the UK factory using steel from Wales and cast iron from the Midlands. All ESSE stoves are designed for use in UK smoke control areas and are awarded the Cleaner Choice accreditation by HETAS.

Retailing from £3,500 Inc. VAT, the LIGHTHEART is available to view through ESSE specialist retail showrooms.
