Place one split log of dry seasoned wood in the base of the stove. Do not use damp or chemically treated wood. | Arrange kindling as shown cut to a maximum thickness of 2 inches. | Place another log on the kindling, insert a fire lighter (or crumpled paper) amongst the kindling and light with a safety match. |
Leave the stove door slightly ajar and fully open all airway controls. | After 15-20 mins the heat will be sufficient to create a draught through the flue and the stove door can be closed. | Allow to burn down to an even bed of glowing embers. |
