Follow these simple steps when lighting a wood burning stove

Place one split log of dry seasoned wood in the base of the stove. Do not use damp or chemically treated wood.
Arrange kindling as shown cut to a maximum thickness of 2 inches.
Place another log on the kindling, insert a fire lighter (or crumpled paper) amongst the kindling and light with a safety match.
Leave the stove door slightly ajar and fully open all airway controls.
After 15-20 mins the heat will be sufficient to create a draught through the flue and the stove door can be closed.
Allow to burn down to an even bed of glowing embers.
Re-fuel the stove.
The burn rate and heat can now be varied using the airway controls.
